OUR CHOIR
All Saints’ Dogmersfield is the only church in the local benefice to have an active and thriving Choir that adds so much to our worship in Dogmersfield.
The Choir sings at all the services except the Family Service, which has more contemporary worship and is more suited to families and children.
Indeed, All Saints’ Dogmersfield is one of very few parish churches these days that has a regular monthly service of Sung Matins.
The Choir usually sings an anthem during Holy Communion 1662 BCP on the first Sunday of every month; a full Sung Matins is on the second Sunday of every month and an anthem during Family Communion on the third Sunday of every month. The fifth Sunday is usually a full Sung Matins, but at least one a year on the fifth Sunday the Choir sings a full Choral Evensong with sung responses and canticles plus an anthem; this service is usually at 6:30 pm.
The full complement of the choir is four basses, two tenors, four altos and six sopranos. They are conducted by Mrs Jacquie Harry ARCO who plays the organ for all regular services except the Family Service.
In addition, the Choir is available to sing at weddings and funeral services in not just All Saints’ Dogmersfield but also St. Mary’s in Winchfield and St John’s in Hartley Wintney, as these churches do not have a Choir of their own. The usual organist for Weddings is Mr Nicholas Woods.
